Conversations surrounding value, expensive as opposed to cheap, trends, and commercially appealing art are categories of discussion amongst artists.
Advisors will tell you that if you want the lions share of income from your art, you'd better stay away from doing faces, or scary art, or anything hat is too colorful because that can easily be considered tasteless.
You know, when I became an artist, it was important to me to be able to express myself authentically and I was stoked about having a portion of my life that did not have to included rules and regulations.
But Red tape rears it's head everywhere and people are influenced by what others decide is normal, valuable, pretty, or worthy.
My goal has always been to express sweetness. I love to convey emotions of kindness and innocence with an occasional dark witch here and there!🤣
So I'm working on this second installment of "Deux Nuit" series.
More decisions to make on her hair and I have to add the gold leaf as well. These are meant to go as a pair to some loving home.
