Last night I couldn't sleep so naturally I grabbed my remote control and logged into my Netflix account to see what I could distract myself to sleep while watching. I had been passing over this Love death Robots thumbnails for months now because I thought is was another Plixr animation type of series.
BOOOOOYYYYY was I freakin wrong about this!!
It's like a copulation of independent animators got together to create a set of mini movies about the doom of the human race becaause of technology and robotoid takeover.
It's funny,
sickening,
gruesome,
thoughtprovoking creativity on steroids..
I'm convinced that creative people have the capability to be serial killers!
I think we just choose to create art to experience diabolical event because we too cowardly to go to jail and we'd suicide ourselves if we lost our freedom.
Creativity is birthed out of fear I believe, fear of the unexplainable, fear of death or loss.
I create art to ease tension, to distract me from my worries or to go back in time. If I didn't have this gift as an outlet, I'd probably resort to stuffing my face with pizza and Krispy Creme donuts.
I almost died a few times, so I know what it's like to not know if you are going to wake up in the morning.
A sobering thought mortality is, yet we act like we have all the time in the world to figure this shyte out.
Love Death and Robots has shaken me deeply.
I have a renewed fear of the future thanks to watching it, but I am also understanding how to use the shadow self to feel free, expressive, unapologetic and... even prosperous.
"Loving You" Original Art by Salkis Re
This original art piece was created whe I was in deep contemplation about accpetance and self love.
We hold onto things and people who provide us with comfort and security, and sometimes we hold on longer than is beneficial to us. Loving someone else should ideally be an extension of the love we feel inisde instead of a replacement of it. If you feel the love, then take advantage of this 60% offer before someone else does..
