Picture it, Brooklyn, Flatbush Avenue, 1978. I’m called in for dinner after a hard day of playing Freeze Tag, Jax amd Double Dutch.

Mom calls me to wash my hands and get to the table. She sets the plate in from of me and all I can see is green.

Green everywhere!

I hate greens.

I told her I do not like greens, yet Mom manages to cook them everyday.
