Afraid to be judged as anything less, each day brings a brand new retort.

Putting forth an unbothered smile to hide how helpless you feel.

Needing to be ever convinced that you are who they want you to be.

The weight of your mask resembles iron while your tears could fill up the sea.

You’re running out of places to hide, so you brace for your big reveal.

 Decide to put your weapons down, for there is no cause to feel fear.

What they profess you’ve no choice to have met is a cross you don’t have to bear.

Repair the bruise to your heart and mind with the doing of what’s calling you.
