Colorism, self worth , and beauty ideals have been topics of debate and scrutiny my entire life. The idea that a little black girl can’t be loved, cherished, and protected is something I am very sensitive about because I lived through those narratives as a child.

I wanted to capture, the innocence, the vulnerability, and the softness of little dark girls in this Jim Crow era inspired art piece. She needs your love..
